There is several II-VI ternary compounds for radiation detector material such as CdZnTe, CdMnTe, and CdMgTe. Until now, we found that the point defect induced defects are most serious and detriment for High quality radiation spectroscopy. Just considering lattice constant, as you can see, CdMgTe is more favorable than CdZnTe.
